As creative director at MaverickPR, I led the brand refresh of the Emerging Ladies Academy (ELA). We took inspiration from iconic Black women in STEM and the vibrant colors and dynamic energy used by our favorite Afro-futuristic artists and inspirations.

ELA’s original logo struck us as lacking the powerful energy and inspiration that the organization brings to Omaha and youth education.

We also wanted to have an icon that could stand on its own as a mark for a variety of assets, key for an education-centric nonprofit.

Our team took inspiration from vibrant African textiles and colors that would complement deeper skin tones, important when working with a lot of representational imagery.
